Understanding the impact of the maternal diet on the melanocortin system and the regulation of food intake and energy balance.
To assess the effect of maternal diet on the melanocortin system and energy homeostasis in offspring, Selma will use different techniques such as genetically modified mouse models, adeno-associated virus injections, immunohistochemistry, as well as investigate feeding behavior and measure metabolic parameters.
