Joint Lab PhaSe – Phytochemistry and Biofunctionality of Plant Secondary Metabolites
The Joint Lab PhaSe investigates the influence of plant-based foods on health. Primarily, the scientists involved are investigating how secondary plant compounds can protect against diet-related diseases. The aim is to be able to make both effective and sustainable dietary recommendations in the future that provide preventive protection against diet-associated chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and certain types of cancer. The founding partners of the Joint Lab PhaSe are DIfE, the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops Großbeeren (IGZ), and the Institute of Nutritional Science at the University of Potsdam (IEW).
