The German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke a member of the Leibniz association, invites applications for a position/positions as

1 Bioinformatician (PostDoc, m/f) /
Dept. Molecular Epidemiology

The position is/positions are available as soon as possible.


We are interested in biomarker profiles as risk factors for the development of type 2 diabetes and associated cardiometabolic traits. We work with high-density omics biomarker data (including lipidomics, genomics, epigenetics, and glycomics) in the EPIC-Potsdam study, a large-scale prospective cohort study. The main focus will be on the statistical analysis of these omics datasets, including the application and development of strategies to integrate such multi-omics data in the context of a prospective study on long-term risk of cardiometabolic diseases. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop his/her own research projects and to participate in national and international collaborations.

Skills and requirements

The advertised position is available for 3 years with extension available upon mutual agreement. The level of salary will be determined on the basis of standard/tariff conditions, present qualifications and professional experience.
