DynAge started initially as collaboration of the Freie Universität Berlin and the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin in 2013. Meantime, the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE), the Max Planck Institute for Human Development as well as the Robert Koch Institute joined DynAge as further partners.
DynAge supports interdisciplinary research of its partners into disease in human aging by providing start-up funding. Scientific questions that integrate different perspectives on disease processes (molecular, individual and societal) are funded.
Currently, the focus is on four age-related disease groups: tumors, cardio‐vascular disease, musculo-skeletal diseases, and cognitive disorders/depression.
